Spinal Stenosis
Spinal stenosis is a condition where the spaces within the spine narrow, putting pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. This narrowing can occur in the neck (cervical stenosis) or lower back (lumbar stenosis) and is often caused by age-related changes like osteoarthritis, disc degeneration, or thickening of ligaments. The pressure on the nerves can lead to pain, numbness, weakness, or tingling, often in the legs or arms. In severe cases, it can affect balance, bladder control, or mobility. Physical therapy can help manage symptoms and improve mobility.
